Who am I? A fair question. I’m Jacquie Crone, your average Manitoban. I’m not a jock, but what I lack in skill I make up for with enthusiasm, and that’s brought me this far. I’m old enough so that I won’t tell you my age, I’m afraid of heights (thank goodness I’m a flatlander), but otherwise I’m good to go.

I live in Winnipeg and I love this city. Rural Manitoba has factored hugely in some of my best experiences. I’ve been lucky to have worked and played in many regions and over the years I have amassed a pile of terrific friends across the province.

My favorite activities include hiking, cycling and dog-walking. In the winter, you’ll find me cross-country skiing, skating and snowshoeing; all the while watching for signs of wildlife and birds with my camera at the ready

My career is a mixed bag as well and I’d like to think I’m above average in terms of outdoor-related employment. I’ve been the Provincial Recreational Trails consultant for many years, and before that, the Chief of Photography for Surveys and Mapping. I spent some time a while back as a Manitoba Parks Interpreter, and I’ve coordinated 100’s of volunteers from Manitoba as I organized the Equestrian events for the 1999 Pan Am Games. More recently, I’ve also aimed the many provincial trail volunteers in the right direction as they plan the development of hundreds of kilometers of recreational trails throughout the province (including the Trans Canada Trail).
